| Why blink-182 is the best! Why blink-182 is the best, ill tell you why. First ill start with talent. Blink-182's guitarist Tom Delonge is amung the best punk-rock guiktarists in this day and age. He uses his own riffs, and writes amazing picking intros and bridges for all there songs. Toms lyrics are also easy to relate to, if your a teen, and can make you stop and think, hey, thats true. Mark Hoppus on bass, is also very good. He's no Flea (chilli peppers) on bass, but he plays what he writes, very well. Hes also a enough to have his custom bass design baught from the biggest guitar company in the world Fender. Thats right! They liked his design, and his custom bass features so much that they baught it from him. The bass is now available at any Fender stored, including fender.com. The bass is called 'Mark Hoppus Bass'. Did you know that Mark also plays guitar! All the songs that Mark sings too, are the songs he wrote lyrics and guitar for! Vice-versa with Tom. Now lets get into Travis Barker! He is one of the best drummers in the world. Good enough to be in 3 majour bands, including the Transplants, where he teams up with member of Rancid (which is a huge selling band). And Box Car Racer, where he teams up with Tom Delonge, and 2 other mebers. Moving on; at every blink-182 concert, Travis will do an amzing drum solo. Travis also makes up alot of original durm beats, beting the punk-rock standard of base-snare bass-bass-snare. Moving on to blink-182 as a whole. There brand of pop-punk-rock music is good enough to sell millions. There first majour album 'Dude Ranch' is reaching at its 3 million coppie status. Blink-182 biggest album 'Enema Of The State' is now at over 8 milion coppies, making it the bigegst album of 1999, and there last release 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket' was the number one album of 2001, selling 250,000 copies its first week, being at Billboard #1 spot for 2 weeks. It is now at its 3 million coppie status worldwide. They also released in 2000 a live album, reocorded at there summer tour, with sold over 400,000 tickets, and the album went on to sell over 2 million coppies worldwide. Blink-182 also had an Australlian tour in the year 2000, where they played shows with over 55,000 people per show! On a regular tour, they still pack in over 15-25,000 people per show! Blink-182 has been famous for longer then you think, they were the most requested, biggest selling punk band of 1997 also, where they got the status 'pop-punk-rock band of the year'. That means they had number 1 albums 3 years (1997,1999,2001) thats amazing! Now moving on; blink-182 dosent only sell major numbers in the u.s and canada. There album Dude Ranch sold 1 million coppies in australlia, along with enema of the state. Enema of the state aslo went Gold in Italy, Britain, Japan, Irelad (just to name a few). Now moving on; blink-182 has had there fair share of fame. Theyve appeared on The Tonite show (twice), Conna Obrein (twice), Saturday night live, Mad T.V, MTV, Muchmusic, Craig Kilborne (twice) and countless Radio stations, other t.v. stations, and the hit 15 million dollar box office rave "American Pie". Theyve aslo Appeared on the simpsons. Not to mention countless compilation cd's, comercials, ect. Blink-182 has won countless awards, including MTV video award, MTV song of the year, MTV Europe, Much Music, Billboard. They were also good enough to to go on the "pop disater tour" with majour punk band Green Day. Mark and Tom also have there own website (loserkids.com) where they sell majour name brand clothes (Atticus, Hurley, Macbeth, ect.) skates, movies, music, and clothes for other huge punk bands (green day, AFI, ect.) Travis also has his own clothing line 'Famous Stars And Straps' (famoussas.com) Blink-182 also have won Blockbuster music awards, Teen Choice Awards, kids Choice Awards, and so many more. There also now in a San Diago recording house, where there recording there 5th studio album, which they are aiming to be the best selling (may be hard to beat enema of the state at 8 million) best reocrd theyve ever done. They are slo experimenting with some new sounds, some electronic drums and keyboards, to gom with there punk-rock music playing abillities. In conclusion, blink-182 has done it all, and then some.
