Green Day:

Green day started off like most punk rock bands in California, U.S. There debute release "sweet children" was a 7" release in 1987. There first real cd release was not untill 1990, when they released "1000 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours". The album did good with underground radio sations in the local area. That album has now gone Gold worldwide. There second release "Kerplunk" got them a little more fame, but they still remained in underground local radio stations, that alnum is now Gold worldwide. But nothing sums ujup to there 1994 release, belived to be 'thr best punk rock release ever'. There album Dookie brought them to mahour radio stations, majour music video play on MTV, and sighning with majour record company 'Reprise'. The album is now into its 20 million coppie sales. They then participated in 'Woodstock' 1994, which also brought there fame up to date. They then toured like crazy, and took off the winter to record there next record, "Insomniac". The album had the punk spirit of Dookie, but merely the popularity, but it still gained over 5 million coppies sold. There next album, 'Nimrod" was also good, but was more aletrnative then there previous records, the album went on to sell over 4 milliion coppies. Green Day then toured for a while, and did'nt release anything untill summer 2000, where there slef-produced alnum 'Warning' came out. The albums 3 singles dominated the radio, and went on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide. After there tour, the following november 2001 they relased a greatest hits album titled 'International Superhits'. The album sold poorly, probably becuase 19 of the 21 tracks were featured on there rpevious records, whihc evry green day fan bought, but there was 2 new tracks, were they teamed up with majour producer Jerry Finn, whos previous works include blink-182, and rancid. That year there also toured on the 'pop disaster tour' with blink-182 and jimmy eat world. They then in 2002 released 'Shenanigans' a collection of b-sides and unreleased tracks dating back to there early days. Green day is palnning a new album, hopefully by Christmas, whats next for green day, i dont know. But will they be punks forever? Bet your ass!
